A Nicholas County man was arrested for violating the rules of his home confinement and fleeing authorities.
Nicholas Sheriff's deputies went to the Canvas home of Gary Bradford Donelson, 28, Thursday afternoon to serve an arrest warrant. They planned to charge him with violating his home confinement, according to a statement from the sheriff's department.
But Donelson crawled out a window and fled into the woods near his home, according to the statement. Multiple deputies, state troopers and a K-9 unit from Mount Olive Correctional Complex searched the area with no luck.
Donelson was found at the IGA grocery store in Nettie several hours later, deputies said.
He was charged with fleeing and violating home confinement. He is being held at Central Regional Jail.
