A South Charleston man has been arrested on charges of failure to pay child support, authorities said.
Cpl. F.E. Flowers was patrolling the area of West Dunbar on Smoot Avenue at 8 p.m. Wednesday when his trunk-mounted license plate reader system alerted him to a vehicle that possibly was being driven by a wanted person, according to a news release from Lt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Flowers stopped the car and identified Jackie L. Bruer Jr., 46, of 4606 Young St. in South Charleston as the wanted person, Crosier said. Bruer was wanted for failure to pay child support and was taken to the South Central Regional Jail, he said.
