A St. Albans man and his daughter were hospitalized after being struck by an SUV.
It happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Walnut Street and Washington Avenue in St. Albans.
John Curry, 58, also of St. Albans, was turning right onto Washington Avenue from Walnut Street in his Chevrolet Suburban when he struck Shawn Shamblen and his 6-year-old daughter, Savannah, St. Albans Police Capt. James Agee said.
The father and daughter were walking in the street when they were struck. Shawn Shamblen suffered injuries to his arm and his leg while Savannah had injuries to her face. Agee said their injuries were not life threatening and both were taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital.
Agee said that intersection is "fairly dark" and that Curry was traveling at a low speed.
No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation. Lt. Marc Gilbert is the investigating officer.
