Police have made a third arrest in the death of Parkersburg woman.
Crystal Dawn Smith, of Parkersburg, has been arrested for her alleged role in the death of Brandy Marie Adams, according to a news release from the Parkersburg Police Department.
A criminal complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court by Detective P.M. Edelen states that sometime around Sept. 20, Smith conspired with Arthur Thornton and Victor Thompson to move the body of Adams from the place of her death.
The complaint says Adams' body was moved from 57 Meadowbrook Trailer Park by placing it in the trunk of a vehicle and transporting it to the Seventh Street Car Wash, 1957 Seventh St.
On Thursday, Smith was placed in the Wood County Holding Center to await arraignment on charges of felony concealing a deceased human body and felony conspiracy to conceal a deceased human body.
Adams' body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston with no obvious cause of death discovered during the examination. Toxicology reports are pending.
