The trial of a Kanawha man accused of having sex with a relative, resulting in the births of three children, has been postponed.
Kanawha Circuit Judge Charles King agreed to continue the trial of Charles Shamblin, 56, of Paint Creek, until Dec. 3. He was scheduled to go on trial this week.
Attorneys told King they are awaiting the availability of an expert from Marshall University to testify on the DNA paternity testing and also results of a competency evaluation.Shamblin was arrested in July and charged with sexual abuse and incest. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $1,000 bond.
