Law enforcement officers responded to a Cedar Grove residence where a man had suffered slash and stab wounds around his neck and back, said Capt. B.C. Robbins of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Cpl. M.A. Huddleston was dispatched to 100 Depot Hill Road about 10 p.m. Monday for a disturbance. He arrived to find Anthony Williams, 33, of Cedar Grove, being treated in an ambulance by paramedics.
Huddleston observed that officers from the Glasgow Police Department had detained Bryan A. Taylor, 24, of Charleston, who had apparently been involved in the altercation.
Huddleston recovered a pair of scissors that he believed to be the instrument used to cut the victim.
Williams was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital. Taylor was charged with malicious wounding and transported to the South Central Regional Jail.
