CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Kanawha County man who admitted to possessing hundreds of images of child pornography faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Michael Lee McCormick, 42, of Winifrede pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver.
He admitted to having the images on his computer in November 2008 and sharing the images with others via the Internet. He also admitted he knew the images were of "pre-pubescent minors," according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin's office.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 31.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney John Frail handled prosecution.
