Emergency crews responded to a fire at 325 Montrose Drive in South Charleston about 3:45 a.m. today, officials said.
The South Charleston Fire Department responded to a call of heavy smoke in the area and found the home on fire, said assistant chief Virgil White.
The homeowner was not there at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. White said 90 percent of the home was destroyed.
That area of Montrose Drive was closed for several hours and reopened about 7 a.m., he said.
Authorities declined to release the names of the residents.
