W.Va. man killed in two-vehicle wreck

By From staff reports

A man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in the Sissonville area on Tuesday.

It happened about 12:30 p.m. on Sissonville Drive near its intersection with Guthrie Road.

Kanawha Metro 911 dispatchers said two vehicles crashed, sending one into an embankment.

The driver of that vehicle was partially ejected from the vehicle. State Police said the driver, John David Potter, 58, of Charleston was pronounced dead at the scene. They did not have information on whether there were other injuries.

Kanawha sheriff's deputies and State Police were at the scene Tuesday afternoon along with county paramedics and Sissonville firefighters.  That area of Sissonville Drive was closed to traffic while first responders were at the scene.
