Deputies are looking for two men accused of robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint then beating him in Fayette County.
Fayette deputies were dispatched early Saturday morning to investigate a robbery on W.Va. 16 near the Fayette-Raleigh county line.
A delivery driver for Domino's Pizza in Beckley went to the old County Line Bar on W.Va. 16 near the county line after receiving a telephone order. Two men attacked the driver when he arrived with the food, Fayette Sheriff Steve Kessler said in a statement.
One of the two pointed a handgun at the deliveryman and ordered him to lie on the ground. The pair took the driver's money then assaulted him. The driver told authorities they took his cellphone and threw it away to keep him from calling for help before fleeing, heading toward Bradley on W.Va. 16, the statement said.
The driver described the first of his attackers as a 35 to 40 year old white man standing about 5-foot-6 and weighing about 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green ball cap, olive drab green military-style jacket and similarly colored pants.
The second man was described as a 30 to 35 year old white man standing about 5 foot 8 and weighing about 140 pounds. He was said to be wearing a dark brown or green hooded jacket and a pair of jeans.
