Three charged with December robbery of Hurricane couple
WINFIELD, W.Va. -- Authorities have made three arrests in connection with the robbery of a Hurricane couple while a fourth suspect remains at large, said Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese.
Stephanie Horn, 21, of Scott Depot, and Lewis Day, 27, of Hurricane, were arrested Thursday afternoon and are lodged in South Western Regional Jail on $200,000 bond each, Deweese said.
A third suspect, Janel Salmons, 22, of Culloden, was arrested by Cabell County deputies and also is lodged in South Western Regional Jail on $200,000 bond, he said.
Charges against each of the three include two counts of robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery.
Authorities are searching for Elvis Russell, 34, whose last known address was 2412 Benedict Road, Culloden. Pending charges include two counts of armed robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, Deweese said.
Two victims were in a stopped vehicle on Fletcher Road in Hurricane when they were robbed last Dec. 9, he said. One of the victims was severely beaten and hospitalized for several days, he said. The names of the victims were not released. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Russell is asked to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Department at 304-586-0256.
