Authorities responding to a report of a methamphetamine lab at a mobile home park near Sissonville have made one arrest and are searching for a second suspect, said Cpl. B.D. Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Responding to the report at 1701 Pine Valley Drive, Lot 61, on Monday evening were members of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office STOP Team and Criminal Investigation Section. STOP is an acronym for Sheriff's Tactical Operations Patrol.
One of the residents, Shane Steven Thaxton, was to be on home confinement for a prior conviction of attempting to operate a clandestine meth lab. Thaxton was not home when deputies arrived.
Deputies obtained a warrant, searched the home and found components of a lab.
Another resident, Jamie Lee Harmon, 33, was arrested on charges of attempting to operate a clandestine lab. He is lodged in South Central Regional Jail with bond set at $25,000.
Deputies obtained a warrant for Thaxton, 35, on charges of attempting to operate a clandestine lab. Additional charges may follow.
