Man pleads not guilty to abuse of 13-month-old
A Charleston man pleaded not guilty to charges of child abuse resulting in injury involving a 13-month old baby.
Colin Russell Bigger, 20, of Renaissance Circle was arrested in December after the baby suffered multiple bruises on her buttocks, genitals and elsewhere on her body.
The baby's mother told authorities Bigger slammed the girl down on the toilet and sometimes spanked her while trying to toilet train her.
The baby was removed from the home by Child Protective Services after she was seen at a local hospital. An April 1 trial date is set for Bigger.
