Man pleads not guilty after fight with police officers
A Clendenin man who fought with police officers when they were called by neighbors has pleaded not guilty to charges against him.
Prosecutors said John Wesley Gandee, 54, of Kelly Hill Road attempted to disarm two officers who were called to check on his welfare last year.
He is charged with battery on a government representative. Prosecutors also said he was convicted of the same charge in another incident in North Carolina and has another wanton endangerment conviction in West Virginia. A circuit judge placed Gandee on home confinement pending an April 16 trial date.
