Suspects sought in Rand home invasion
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Rand woman told police she was held captive and assaulted by two males who broke into her home early Monday.
Deputies were dispatched about 4 a.m. to 200 Clemson Ave. in Rand to investigate a home invasion, said Capt. B.C. Robbins of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
They found a 64-year-old woman had been tied up and held captive by two unknown males.
The victim, whose name was not released, had been physically assaulted and suffered minor injuries, Robbins said.
The perpetrators made statements to the victim that led her to believe she was specifically targeted, he said. Robbins did not comment on the nature of the statements.
After the captors fled, the woman was able to free herself and call 911, he said.
