Electronics stolen from J.E. Robins Elementary

By From staff reports

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Charleston police are investigating the theft of electronics from a school on the city's West Side.

Sgt. Autumn Davis said officers were called Monday morning to J.E. Robins Elementary School on Beech Avenue to investigate a break in. She said it appeared to have happened over the weekend.

A window at the rear of the school near the playground was broken. Davis said laptops and iPods were stolen from a classroom in the building.

Principal Henry Nearman estimated the losses at $1,500. He said the school has seen vandalism in the past, but this was the first time Robins has been broken into. Anyone with information can contact Charleston police at 304-348-6829 or 304-348-6480.
