CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Four people have been arrested in the Belle area on meth charges, said Cpl. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies M.C. Dickerson and C.D. Lyons responded to a report on Monday of suspicious activity near Witcher Creek and U.S. 60. Two men with backpacks had been seen walking on private property.
The deputies saw two men operating a clandestine lab to make methamphetamine and seized the evidence. William Clifton Massey, 22, of Belle, and Robert Randall Meade, 34, of Belle, were arrested.
The investigation also led police to another location on Witcher Creek Road where evidence of a separate meth lab was discovered. Jody Lee Dawson, 39, of Shrewsbury, and Emerald Diana Massey, 20, of Belle, were arrested.All four were charged with attempting to operate a clandestine laboratory and conspiracy to operate a clandestine laboratory. The suspects were arraigned before Magistrate Mike Sisson, who set bond at $25,000 each. They are lodged in South Central Regional Jail.
