A Kanawha County man who collected more than 600 images of child pornography was sentenced Monday to two years in federal prison followed by 15 years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin announced Tuesday.
Michael Lee McCormick, 42, of Winifrede, pleaded guilty in November 2012, admitting that he possessed more than 600 images of child pornography. McCormick also admitted that he downloaded the images on his computer, and shared the images with others on the Internet.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney John Frail handled the prosecution and the sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge John Copenhaver Jr.
