A fourth suspect in a brutal downtown robbery has turned himself in to police Thursday night.
Timothy Schmachtenberger, of Canton, Ohio, was wanted for first-degree robbery. Police believe Schmachtenberger worked together with three University of Charleston basketball players -- Terrell Lipkins, Quincy Washington and Robert Dreher -- to beat and rob Andrew Rude and Patrick Morrison in the early morning hours of April 21.
Detective Jamey Noland said police also now have new evidence in another downtown attack that occurred on April 14, that has allowed them to file additional warrants of malicious wounding against Washington.
Noland said the investigation into the downtown robberies is ongoing. Anyone with information on the events is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 304-348-6480.
