It was a harrowing day for one driver, who lost control of his car and ended up dangling over the concrete barrier at the Fort Hill bridge.
It happened just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday when a quick rainstorm blew into Charleston.
Kanawha Metro 911 dispatchers said a man heading east on Interstate 64 was approaching the Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge when he drove up onto the concrete wall. The vehicle's back tires were over the wall, dispatchers said.
The driver was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the bridge.
One lane was closed while emergency crews worked at the scene.Charleston police were investigating the crash.
