CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Authorities say an Ohio man was stabbed during a fight at a Parkersburg area bar.
Police were dispatched to Camden Clark Medical Center's St. Joseph's Hospital early Sunday to speak to a stabbing victim who was injured at The Other Side bar.
The victim, Lindsey Ray Adkins Jr., 29, of Belpre, Ohio, went to the bar with two others early Sunday morning. When Adkins tried to open the door to the bar an unknown male kicked the door shut, according to a statement issued from police.
A short fight ensued between Adkins and the man. Both men threw punches, police said. Two witnesses told investigators that Adkins ran back to his car, saying he had been stabbed. The two also saw a man holding a knife.
Adkins had an obvious knife wound in his torso and was taken to St. Joseph's. He was in stable condition Sunday afternoon.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s, between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-5. He has long dark hair, police said. No clothing description was given.
