A Charleston man pleaded guilty in court Monday to the rape of a woman at knifepoint on the city's East End.
Erique Harris, 21, pleaded guilty to the felony offenses of first-degree sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault in the November incident.
The woman was stabbed in the arm during the ordeal, according to prosecutors. The attack was partially recorded by Metro Communications when the woman dialed 911.
Prosecutor Mark Plants credited police for a speedy response and the capture of Harris minutes after the crime.He faces up to 60 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
