A Logan County man was killed and a teen was severely injured in a two-vehicle collision near Chapmanville.
It happened about 5 p.m. Monday on W.Va. 10 south of Chapmanville. Two vehicles collided nearly head-on in a narrow section of the two-lane road, according to State Police in Logan.
Trooper M.A. Broadwater described that section of road as having a cliff face on one side and a drop-off on the other. He said one of the vehicles crossed the centerline into the path of the other.
Auston Marcum, 21, of Peck Mills, was driving one of the vehicles. He died as a result of his injuries. His passenger, a juvenile, was critically injured and flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. The driver and passenger in the second vehicle were taken to a local hospital and have since been released.
