Police seek help identifying suspected purse thief

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Police are asking the public's help in identifying a woman accused of stealing a purse from a Kanawha City restaurant.

A woman stole a purse from another woman at Fujiyama Japanese steakhouse earlier this week, according to a statement issued by Charleston Sgt. Tony Hazelett, assistant chief of detectives.

The suspect then used the victim's credit card at Foodland in Chesapeake. She was seen in a green Toyota Tacoma and was accompanied by a white male in his late 30s or early 40s.

Detectives think the suspect lives in the Hansford or Pratt area in eastern Kanawha County.

Anyone with information on the suspect can contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 304-348-6480.
