CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Authorities say a Marion County high school teacher had a sexual relationship with a female student.
Michael Waller, 29, of Fairmont, was charged Wednesday with four counts of sexual abuse by a person of trust, State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said Wednesday.
Waller was a driver's education teacher at East Fairmont High School.
He is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl at the school. The Times West Virginian reported the alleged encounters between the two all occurred last month.
The newspaper reported Wednesday that Marion County school board members accepted Waller's resignation Monday amid the allegations.
He was arraigned in Marion Magistrate Court and released on a $100,000 bond.
