CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A Fayette County man was arrested after deputies raided his Montgomery area home and found drugs and cash.
Michael King Jr., 26, was charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Officers from the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force, assisted by the Fayette Sheriff's Special Response Team, executed a search warrant on King's home early Wednesday. Officers obtained the warrant after using a confidential informant to buy drugs from him on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the sheriff's office.
Investigators found a small amount of marijuana, 17 plastic bags of cocaine, a set of digital scales, more than $6,000 cash and a .38 revolver. He was arraigned in Fayette Magistrate Court and is being held at Southern Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.
"Slowly, but surely, we are making progress in identifying and arresting those individuals who are selling illicit drugs in our communities," Sheriff Steve Kessler said in a statement. "Officers from the Drug Task Force have been conducting investigations throughout all areas of the county."
