A Rand man has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder in the February death of another man.
Tremale Leon Straughter, 29, was indicted by a Kanawha Grand Jury in May for the murder of Harold Donovan Taylor Jr., 29.
The incident took place in the 5300 block of Emory Avenue about 4:45 a.m. Feb. 14. Authorities said Taylor was shot inside his car, which crashed into a fence. Witnesses told police they saw Straughter shoot him multiple times with two weapons.
Neighbors said the two men had been lifelong friends.
A judge set his trial for Sept. 30.
