CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Authorities are searching for a man who removed his home confinement bracelet on Saturday and fled, said Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese.
William Wesley McCallister, 54, was serving a five-year sentence for felon in possession of a firearm concurrent with a one-year sentence for a DUI second offense. He also has two additional sex offender charges by the West Virginia state police, Deweese said.
Deweese said McCallister will now face additional charges of felony escape and destruction of property.
The last known address for McCallister was the boat ramp behind Kroger in Dunbar.
McCallister is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair.
