An Indiana woman was flown to a local hospital after crashing her bicycle on a mountain bike trail in Fayette County.
A 46-year-old Columbus, Ind., woman was riding a bicycle on the Clovis Branch of the Arrowhead Trail System in Fayette County at about 1 p.m. Sunday when she wrecked, Robin Snyder, spokeswoman for the National Parks Service, said in a news release.
The woman, whose name has not been released, sustained injuries to her upper back and neck when she crashed into a small tree.
National Parks Service rangers, along with paramedics and Fayetteville firefighters, stabilized the woman and evacuated her from the scene using a wheel litter.
They moved her about a mile to where an ambulance was waiting to take her to a HealthNet helicopter.She was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital.
