Man pleads guilty to firing shotgun near Mink Shoals homes
A Charleston man who was arrested after he shot a gun near homes in Mink Shoals has pleaded guilty in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Aaron Shaffer, 27, pleaded guilty to firing a weapon within 500 feet of a dwelling. He was walking on Dutch Road on April 2 with a shotgun in the early morning, and several residents called 911 to report they heard shots fired.
One resident's home was hit 10-15 times.
Shaffer's home was later searched by a bomb squad as a precaution. He will be sentenced later this month by Circuit Judge Tod Kaufman.
