A woman wanted in Virginia on drug charges was arrested in Cross Lanes on Sunday evening when a law enforcement officer stopped her for a traffic violation, authorities said today.
Deputy S.M. Adams was on routine patrol in Cross Lanes about 7 p.m. Sunday when she saw a minivan on Big Tyler Road with an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, said Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
After stopping the van, Adams discovered the driver was wanted by Front Royal Virginia authorities on charges of possessing a controlled substance, Crosier said.
Rebecca Barnhouse, 35, of Cross Lanes, was arrested and transported to South Central Regional Jail to await extradition to Virginia, Crosier said.
