City residents arrested for having stolen pistols
Two Charleston residents were arrested for carrying concealed weapons without a license following an early morning traffic stop on Tuesday.
A Charleston police officer stopped a vehicle for speeding at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near the Greenbrier Street exit of Interstate 77, Sgt. Tony Hazelett said.
The driver, Tammy Holman, 41, tried to conceal a weapon in the front of her pants and the pistol turned out to be stolen, Hazelett said. A canine drew the officer's attention to the passenger side of the vehicle, where a second pistol was discovered, he said.
The passenger, Danny Delaney, 26, was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license.
Holman was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license as well as transferring and receiving stolen property.
Both were transported to South Central Regional Jail.
