CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Zachary Jones, son of Charleston Mayor Danny Jones, pleaded not guilty to drug charges Tuesday in Kanawha Circuit Court. An August trial was set.
Last month, Circuit Judge Duke Bloom granted a request to allow Jones to attend a Huntington drug treatment program.
In court Tuesday, Bloom asked Jones how he was doing in the program.
Jones responded, "It's absolutely wonderful."
Bloom said, "You look good. And you look healthy."
Jones was arrested in March and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine. He posted a $25,000 property bond and was released from jail.
Jones came to court with his mother, Lola Casdorph. He is represented by former prosecutor Bill Forbes.
