CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Deputies are looking for a man accused of passing forged checks in Kanawha, Putnam and other counties.
Kanawha Capt. J.S. Bailes received a complaint concerning forged checks on July 12. The victim said one check had been forged and used at a grocery store in Cross Lanes, but that over the course of the next several days more checks were forged and passed, including one at a Go-Mart in Teays Valley, Cpl. Brian Humphreys said in a release.
The checks were written on an account belonging to the woman and her now deceased mother.
Surveillance video retrieved from one of the stores was enhanced so that the suspect could be seen clearly.
Anyone with information can contact Capt. Bailes at the sheriff's department at 304-357-0169.
