KINGWOOD, W.Va. (AP) - A Preston County man has been charged with attacking his girlfriend and another woman with a hydraulic jack.
The Dominion Post (www.dominionpost.com) reports 38-year-old Robert Franklin Lambert III of Masontown was arraigned on two counts of malicious wounding Friday in Preston County Magistrate Court.
A criminal complaint says Lambert was riding in his truck with the women when an argument ensued Thursday. The complaint says Lambert grabbed a hydraulic bottle jack. Both women were struck in the head and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Lambert told State Police that one of the women had threatened him with the jack first before he took it from her.
Lambert was freed on bond Friday from the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. It wasn't immediately known whether he has an attorney.
