A Putnam County deputy has resigned in the wake of accusations that he was involved with at least eight tasing incidents, said Sheriff Steve Deweese.
Cpl. Dave Bailey, a deputy for more than 10 years, is a pastor at Lett Creek Community Baptist Church, Deweese said.
Bailey, who is in his mid-30s, was at a church camp in mid-July where he was allegedly involved in at least eight incidents using a non-department issued taser on an adult woman and teenage boys, Deweese said. The teens were also allegedly allowed to tase each other.
Bailey resigned last Thursday from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
The criminal investigation has been completed by state police and the information sent to Prosecuting Attorney Mark Sorsaia to determine whether criminal charges will be filed, Deweese said.
