Putnam man arrested in brother's stabbing death
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Putnam County man is in jail after stabbing his brother to death in an early morning fight at their home in Scott Depot, said Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese.
The incident happened about 1 a.m. Wednesday on Thomas Drive when Johnathan Facemyer, 25, stabbed his brother, Michael Facemyer, 36, multiple times in the chest and arm, Deweese said.
Michael Facemyer was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, the sheriff said.
Johnathan Facemyer was arrested without incident at a Sheetz in Hurricane with assistance from Hurricane City Police. He was taken to Western Regional Jail where he was awaiting arraignment on Wednesday morning on a charge of first-degree murder, Deweese said.
The brothers lived together in a home with their parents, the sheriff said.
"They fought for many years," Deweese said. "We have been there many times on a domestic."
He did not know what the fight was about on Wednesday morning.
