State Police say Raleigh homicide could be drug related

A body found under an abandoned car in Raleigh County was that of a woman who had been shot to death, State Police say.

At about 6 p.m. Monday, Senior Trooper J. G. Martin and Corporal A. S. Goodson of the Beckley Detachment responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle with a body underneath it at 237 Easton St., in the Harper Heights area of Raleigh County.

When the troopers arrived, they discovered that Deborah Dalton, 51, of Lanark, was the victim of a homicide, Sgt. Michael Baylous said in a news release. 

The medical examiner's office determined that Dalton had beem shot to death.  Investigating officers say the crime appears to have been drug-related.
