CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two men are behind bars while another is recovering at the hospital after an early morning shooting.
Kalvon Casdorph, 20, of Charleston, and Lajaun Flood, 30, of Detroit, are at South Central Regional Jail on drug charges after they dropped off shooting victim Omarion Cooper, 24, of Detroit, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital.
Charleston Police Sgt. Tony Hazelett said Casdorph and Flood drove the victim in a white Chevy Tahoe to CAMC around 4:30 a.m. and began causing a disturbance in the emergency room waiting area. When security came out, the duo fled.
Patrol officers caught up with them a couple blocks away, Hazelett said.
Casdorph was wanted on a state capias and possession with of an imitation substance. His bail is set at $312. Flood was arrested on simple possession of a controlled substance. His bail is set at $562.
The arrests are not directly related to the shooting itself.
Cooper remains in the hospital and is facing drug charges once he is released, Hazelett said.
Cooper was shot once through the groin. The bullet lodged in his left leg, Hazelett said.He is expected to recover.
