Marijuana plants with a street value of $26,000 were found at a home on Campbells Creek Drive where a man was arrested at his residence on drug charges, said Cpl. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
A tip regarding drug activity in the 4900 block of Campbells Creek Drive led to the arrest of Joey Franklin Washington, 42, on Monday, Humphreys said.
Washington met deputies at the front door and allowed them to search the residence and property. In the back yard, deputies found 13 marijuana plants, including some in plastic pots and some planted in the ground. All plants were about four feet tall. Estimated street value for the seizure is $26,000.Washington was arrested for possession with intent to deliver and taken to South Central Regional Jail to await arraignment until Kanawha County Magistrate Court reopened following Monday's holiday. Bond was set at $1,000, which he has since posted.
