CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- A federal prisoner who assaulted his case manager and four other staff members who tried to protect her will spend an additional 20 years behind bars.
The Exponent-Telegram (http://bit.ly/17F5gck) says U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley sentenced 42-year-old Tarvish Leviticus Dunham on Thursday.
She cited his history of violence and apparent lack of remorse.
The attack occurred in 2011 at the U.S. Penitentiary at Hazelton, when the former North Carolina resident was already serving a 26-year sentence for other crimes.
Keeley sentenced him on two counts of assaulting, resisting and impeding personnel resulting in injury. He'd also been convicted of obstructing justice by retaliating against a witness and related charges for resisting and assaulting.
Dunham was being held Friday at the federal prison in Gilmer County.
