Woman killed in head-on collision with teen driver
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- An Elkview woman was killed in a head-on collision with a juvenile driver late Saturday night along Frame Road.
It happened about 11:30 p.m. near the Pequonia Drive intersection. Cpl. Brian Humphreys, Kanawha Sheriff's Department spokesman, said two vehicles collided head-on and resulted in the death of one of the drivers.
Candy Lachea Poling, 28, of Elkview was killed in the crash.
Deputies are investigating the crash to determine what caused it. The driver of the other vehicle is under 18, causing deputies to limit information, Humphreys said. He said that was typical of investigations where juveniles are involved and was not meant to "construe an assignment of fault."
Frame Road was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.
