PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- A January trial is set for a Wood County woman accused of trying to arrange the killing of her husband.
Media outlets report that 40-year-old Amy Yvonne Mayhugh of Vienna pleaded not guilty during an arraignment this week in Wood County Circuit Court. Her trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 28.
Parkersburg police arrested Mayhugh on Nov. 6. The next day, a special grand jury indicted her on a charge of solicitation to commit a felony crime of violence.
Police say Mayhugh wanted to have her husband killed in order to collect life insurance proceeds of up to $400,000.
