A man who was supposed to be dropping a teen girl off at a Calhoun County school but made sexual advances to her on the way is facing a felony charge, State Police say.
Clarke Douglas Patterson, 45, most recently of Morgantown, was arrested Friday and charged with sexual abuse by a custodian and third-degree sexual abuse. State Police in Calhoun County investigated the reported incidents.
It was mid-September when Patterson, who had been driving a 13-year-old girl to Calhoun High/Middle School, asked her if she wanted to skip school and "fool around" with him, according to the complaint filed in Calhoun Magistrate Court. The girl refused and he dropped her off at the school.
Another incident occurred near the girl's home on Stinson Road in Calhoun County. The girl told troopers that Patterson grabbed her waist and ground himself into her backside without her permission, the complaint said.Patterson remains at Central Regional Jail where he is being held on $60,000 bond.
