CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The DuPont Belle plant will complete the removal of a historical pipeline starting on Saturday. Traffic will be periodically stopped in the westbound lanes of Route 60 in front of the Belle plant throughout the day.
Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
The Daily Mail previously reported that the project to remove four 1,000-foot-long pipelines was delayed after plant officials decided to find a safer way to remove the portion of the line closest to the top of the hill.
The project was initially scheduled for completion in August, but now is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
