Theives allegedly steal narcotics from pharmacy
Theives broke into a Lincoln County pharmacy overnight and went straight for the prescription drugs, State Police said.
Two unidentified men forced their way into the Alum Creek Pharmacy on Childress Road off U.S. 119 just after 1 a.m. Monday, Trooper C.F. Wingo said. The men ignored the store's other merchandise and made their way straight to the pharmacy.
He said the men stole several containers of narcotics but it wasn't clear what was taken Monday evening as the pharmacist had yet to inventory the store's supply.
The men fled in a silver vehicle. The pharmacy's location, close to U.S. 119, makes it easily accessible.
Wingo said he planned to review security footage from the store in hopes of identifying the men.
The store was robbed about a month ago, but no arrests were made in that case, Wingo said. That incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information can contact troopers at the Hamlin detachment at 304-824-3101.
