Man charged with DUI after accident on St. Albans/Nitro bridge
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A St. Albans man has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence and causing injury following an accident that injured three people, authorities said.
Nitro Police responded to a vehicle crash 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Main Avenue and Center Street at the foot of the St. Albans/Nitro Bridge.
A Dodge Neon driven by Justin Miller, 34, of Cleveland Avenue in St. Albans struck a Ford Escape driven by Geoffrey Seabolt, said Major Dave Richardson, deputy chief of police for the Nitro Police Department.
Miller failed three field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, he said.
The driver and a passenger in the Ford Escape were treated at the scene for injuries. A third person was in intensive care at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital on Thursday. Authorities declined to release his name. Miller is being held in South Central Regional Jail with bond set at $5,000.
