Body on W.Va. bridge believed to be missing man

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Huntington police believe a body that was discovered under a bridge is that of a man who was reported missing last week.

Media outlets report that authorities believe the body is believed to be that of Randy Paul Martin II of Westmoreland. He was reported missing by his family after last being seen Dec. 10.

Lt. John Williams said the cause of death appears to be from a single gunshot wound but didn't say whether it was self-inflicted or the result of foul play.

The body was discovered Monday by a passing towboat. Police had discovered Martin's car in a restaurant parking lot Friday.

A positive identification has not yet been made and the body will be sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
