A Charleston man was arrested when a search of his West Side home turned up drugs and a gun.
Members of the Kanawha Sheriff's Tactical Operations Patrol (STOP) Team went to the Roane Street home Monday after receiving information concerning drugs through the sheriff's office's meth tip line.
The tipster reported the resident, Eric Toon, 31, was involved in the drug trade and was operating out of his Roane Street home, Cpl. Brian Humphreys, Kanawha Sheriff's Office spokesman, said in a release.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home where they found a .45-caliber automatic pistol and a small amount of marijuana. Toon, a convicted felon, was at the home at the time of the search. As a convicted felon, Toon is not allowed to have any firearms in his possession.
He was taken into custody and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held at South Central Regional Jail.
