Delay sought in WV quadruple murder trial
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- Prosecutors and defense attorneys are asking a judge to delay the trial in a Clarksburg quadruple murder case.
Sidney A. Muller of Fairmont is charged with four counts of murder. He's accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old Todd Russell Amos, 26-year-old Christopher Hart, 70-year-old Fred Swiger and his son, 47-year-old Freddie Swiger.
Police say the shootings of Hart and Amos inside an apartment were drug-related. They say the Swigers were bystanders who were delivering newspapers.
The Exponent Telegram (http://bit.ly/1fWuYSf ) reports that attorneys say they need more time to examine evidence. Also, prosecutors are still awaiting autopsy reports.
Muller has pleaded innocent. The trial is currently set to start April 14.
